The ancient Chinese practice of acupuncture stimulates the chi (qi) allowing the body to self-heal. Henry Zhen-Hong Lee is an expert in acupuncture.

Qi is the Chinese name for the vital energy that braces the universe. According to Answers.com, “Its literal translation is 'gas' and hence is similar to the Hebrew concept of spirit, which is associated with breath. In China, qi is usually thought of as yaunqi, the original vital energy. Qi is the energy that flows through the body and is the subject of treatment in acupuncture and acupressure. Blockage of the flow of qi is the source of disease and the free natural flow of qi is the underpinning basis of health.”

But, what exactly is acupuncture?

Acupuncture Restores Energy Pathways

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice. The insertion of micro-thin needles at specific points on the body rebalances the body’s energy fields and stimulates its ‘chi’ (qi) energy. It unblocks the paths that are blocked. Restoring the energy pathways allows the body to relearn its own shortcuts to self-healing. Henry Zhen-Hong Lee is an expert in this field.

Chronic Illnesses and Acupuncture

Chronic illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, and fibromyalgia are included in the vast number of health problems that can benefit from acupuncture. In Eastern medicine, rather than just treating the symptoms, the practitioner finds the cause of the illness. Finding the path that is blocked and the organ that out of balance, the acupuncturist works to open the pathways and rebalance the patient’s chi.

It is important to realize that with any health condition, including chronic illnesses, there is no sure-fire cure. But, the Chinese practice of acupuncture, based on the results of thousands of years of Chinese history, does aid in bringing about better health and quality of life.

As a patient suffering with health issues, it is up to you to seek out avenues of relief. It is also important for you to discuss any alternative treatment you are thinking of beginning with your primary care physician.
